Sticky Flares

The objective of this program is to develop low-cost, effective means of marking targets for direct fire support by armored vehicles and close air support using launchers currently available in the Services’ inventory. The end product to be developed under this program will be a 40 mm grenade launched magnesium flare that will “stick” to buildings and burn for 60-90 seconds.
