UUV Power Technologies

The vision for the DARPA Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) Power Technologies program is to significantly increase the total transit distance and/or time on station for military UUV applications by exploring high risk, high payoff technologies. It is anticipated that, if successful, technologies developed under the DARPA UUV Power Technologies program will enable missions that the U.S. Navy has yet to consider. To meet this objective, Performers in the program are pursuing novel UUV power systems based on energy density goals extracted from a "notional" UUV mission.
