The Center of Excellence for Research in Ocean Sciences (CEROS) encourages leading edge research and development in ocean sciences, by involving highly-specialized small businesses with recognized expertise in ocean related research, and providing access to the ocean sciences expertise of the University of Hawaii. Major research areas of interest have included shallow water surveillance technologies, ocean environmental preservation, new ocean platform and ship concepts, ocean measurement instrumentation, and unique properties of the deep ocean environment.
