Dr. Allen Moshfegh
Program Manager
Bio:
Dr. Moshfegh serves as program manager in the area of Network-Centric Collaborative Systems enabling Persistent ISR and Cueing. His areas of interest include: decentralized control of distributed systems, collaborative unmanned systems, distributed networked computing and fusion, swarming, and self-organizing autonomous systems.
Prior to joining DARPA, Dr. Moshfegh was program manager at the Office of Naval Research (ONR). At ONR he initiated the Autonomous Intelligent Networked Systems (AINS) program. Key technologies developed and demonstrated in the AINS program included: the first autonomous UAV (Yamaha helicopters) navigation and landing systems using only passive sensors (video) to land on a pitching deck in 2000, the first multi-UAV (3 to 9) fight demonstration in 2001, collaborative ISR using a networked autonomous UGV and UAV team in 2002, and UAV vision based navigation with no GPS in 2003. Prior to that, he worked at David Taylor Research Center at Carderock (NSWC-CD); MCI; and at CAE-Link.
Dr. Moshfegh holds a Doctor of Science in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University.
