Dr. Mark E. Davis
Deputy Director
Bio:
Dr. Davis is a Deputy Director of the Information Processing Techniques Office (IPTO), one of five Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) technical offices. IPTO is currently supporting thrusts in high productivity computing, command and control, sensors and processing, automated language translation, and cognitive systems. Dr. Davis' technical interests include radar and microwave system design, phased array antennas and adaptive signal processing.
Dr. Davis has 40 years experience in Government and Industry in developing technology and systems for radar and electronic systems. He rejoined DARPA as Deputy Director Information Exploitation Office in 2006 and assumed his current role upon the merger of the Information Exploitation Office and the Information Processing Technology Office in 2008. Prior to these assignments he was the Technical Director for Air Force Research Laboratory Space Based Radar Technology (1998-2006) and Program Manager in DARPA Information Systems Office for Counter CC&D technologies (1995-1998).
Dr. Davis is a Fellow of the IEEE and Military Sensing Symposia, and a member of the IEEE Radar Systems Panel. He has a Ph.D. in Physics from The Ohio State University, and Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University.
