Industry Summit

As a means of reaching out to industry, DARPA held an Industry Summit on January 26-27, 2010. Its purpose was to provide an opportunity for senior executives from industry to explore and exchange views with DARPA leadership on issues surrounding competitiveness in a globalized society. The Summit was open to the public, but confined to the first 128 companies that signed up.

DARPA Network Challenge

To mark the 40th anniversary of the Internet, DARPA has announced the DARPA Network Challenge, a competition that will explore the roles the Internet and social networking play in the timely communication, wide-area team-building, and urgent mobilization required to solve broad-scope, time-critical problems.

Grand Challenges

In 2007, DARPA hosted an autonomous vehicle race through traffic. Find out more about the Urban Challenge, and the prior 2005 and 2004 Grand Challenges. DARPA currently has no plans to hold an additional Grand Challenge event.

50th Anniversary Celebration

DARPA celebrated its 50th Anniversary on April 10, 2008, a once-in-a-lifetime event.

DARPATech
