Special Notice SN07-04: OPTICAL LATTICE EMULATOR (OLE) BAA06-19, Addendum 7 Proposer's
Day Workshop, DATE: December 5, 2006, REGISTRATION DEADLINE: November 28, 2006,
TECHNICAL POC: Dr. John R. Lowell, DARPA/DSO, Ph: (571) 218-4685, Email: jay.lowell@darpa.mil;
URL: www.darpa.mil/dso. Website Submission: http://www.sainc.com/dso0619/
In anticipation of a potential program on the topic of Optical Lattice Emulator
(OLE), DARPA is hosting a Proposers Day Workshop that will provide critical information
on the program vision, the program milestones, and opportunities associated with
the development of an interdisciplinary team to respond to BAA06-19, Addendum
7. The workshop will be held on December 5, 2006, in Arlington, Virginia.
The goals and milestones of the DARPA Optical Lattice Emulator program are specified
in the Broad Agency Announcement, BAA06-19, Addendum 7. A highly interdisciplinary
team will be required to perform the effort and meet the Phase I milestones.
The Proposer's Day will facilitate the formation of teams with the necessary
expertise to respond to the open Broad Agency Announcement.
The teaming and information session will be held at The Executive Conference
Center, 3601 Wilson Blvd Suite 600, Arlington, VA, on December 5, 2006. The goals
of the teaming and information session are: (a) introduce the research community
(industry, academia, and Government) to the Optical Lattice Emulator (OLE) program
vision and goals; (b) go over representative performance calculations and present
possible challenge problems for the OLE program; and (c) encourage and promote
teaming arrangements among potential research organizations that have the relevant
expertise, facilities, and capabilities for executing a research and development
program responsive to the OLE program goals. The teaming and information session
will include overview presentations by Government personnel and a poster session
to facilitate interaction and team building among the teaming and information
session participants. Additionally, a teaming website is provided to facilitate
these interactions and can be found at http://www.sainc.com/OLE_Teaming.
Potential participants should note that formation of teams with sufficient expertise
to address all technical areas described in the BAA Addendum will be critical
to the success of the program. DARPA will not be funding component technologies
that address only a subset of the technologies listed above through BAA06-19,
Addendum 7, Optical Lattice Emulator (OLE).
Appropriate teaming will be a critical element in responding to the DARPA Optical
Lattice Emulator solicitation. OLE Proposers Day Workshop participants are strongly
encouraged to prepare posters describing areas of capabilities in order to facilitate
communications, interactions, and teaming discussions during the poster session.
Workshop details including registration, poster session, meeting location, and
lodging are given on the OLE registration website at http://www.eventmakeronline.com/dso/View/index.asp?MeetingID=478.
There is no fee for the OLE Proposers Day Workshop. Registration is limited by
the venue capacity (maximum of 75 attendees) and early registration is strongly
recommended. The registration cutoff date is November 28, 2006, or at attendance
capacity, whichever comes first. Further administrative information is available
from Kristina Waikart (Kristina.Waikart.ctr@darpa.mil).
Additional technical information can be obtained from John Lowell (Jay.Lowell@darpa.mil).
Please refer to the Optical Lattice Emulator (OLE) Proposers Day Workshop in
your correspondence. This announcement is not a request for proposals.
The OLE Proposers Day Workshop will be held at the offices of Strategic Analysis
Inc., 3601 Wilson Boulevard Suite 600, Arlington, VA, on December 5, 2006.
