Benjamin Mann, Ph.D.  


Benjamin Mann joined the DARPA Defense Sciences Office in July 2004 as a Program Manager for the Mathematics Program. He came to DARPA from the National Science Foundation (NSF) where he was a program officer for algebra, number theory, and combinatorics as well as topology, geometric analysis, and foundations. Prior to joining the NSF, he was on the mathematics faculties of Rutgers University, Harvard University, Clarkson University, and the University of New Mexico. He has also held visiting positions at Stanford University and the University of Edinburgh.

Dr. Mann's research interests include algebra, number theory, topology, and geometry, and their applications across science and technology. Dr. Mann received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from UCLA and a master’s degree and doctorate in mathematics from Stanford University.
