Sharon Beermann-Curtin comes to DARPA from ONR, where she was the Acting Deputy Department Head of the Materials and Physicals Sciences, and Ship Hull Mechanical & Electrical Science & Technology Department. She also held the position of Technology Manager for Ship Systems in the Hull, Mechanical and Electrical S&T Division. During her 11 years at ONR, she was responsible for the National Naval Responsibility - Naval Engineering Initiative, the Electric Ship Research & Development Consortium, the Torpedo Defense Project in the Undersea Weapons Program, and the Advanced Environmental Acoustics Program. She has also held engineering positions at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center and at the McDonnell Douglas Electronic Systems Company.
